Skin Care

Skin Care : Cleansing
Clean your skin every evening. The skin pores get blocked dut to exposure to air pollutions, wind, sun, air conditioning, dirt and grime from our fingers. After cleansing, using a natural skin toner like rose water.

It is really important to remove stale make-up, perspiration, dirt, dust, excess oil etc. Use a good, natural cleanser that removes only the impurities without stripping the skin of nutrients and moisture.

Wipe your face with a piece of cotton wool dipped in milk (unboiled or not heated). Almond oil is a good cleanser for skin under the eyes.
Remember that over cleansing can harm the skin.

Skin Care : Exfoliating
It is important to help the skin renewal process by removing dead skin cells. Exfoliate at least twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells. Care should be taken if you have broken capillaries/surface veins.

Clay Masks
Clay helps to deep cleanse and draw out impurities and to soften and condition the skin.

Skin Care : Moisturising
Moisturing helps to protect your skin from daily pollutants. Moisturising morning and evening with a natural moisturiser will hydrate, moisturise and protect your skin.

For a moisturizing and nourishing mask, blend a mashed banana with white cosmetic clay and apply.

For normal skin care, mix 1 cup yogurt, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice and apply it on your face. Clean it off after 20 minutes.

For dry skin care, use a mixture of cooked oatmeal and honey; it is a very good moisturizer and cleansing agent.

Body Care

Hands Care: Mash a banana with some butter and rub on your hands. Before Shower:Body brushing helps exfoliate, tone and stimulate the skin as well as helping the natural drainage of our lymph glands. Dry body brushing before a shower with a natural bristle brush. Always brush upwards to the heart in quick, rhythmic strokes and brush down to the heart when you reach the shoulder/neck area.

For Lips Care: In the evening, before going to bed, after washing your face and lips, rub your lips with a soft towel to remove the dead cells. Then apply a few drops of pure almond oil on them and leave it overnight. The lips will become soft and become light in color if dark over a period of time.

After Shower: Apply body lotion. Water is a natural hydration for the skin.

Choose the best foundation for your skin type

How to Find the Best Foundation and Concealor for Your Skin Type

Foundation makeup is used as a base for any makeup application and gives the appearance of a health, clear or flawless complexion. Concealer is used for the purpose of additional coverage and is applied sparingly to minimize imperfections such as under eye circles, blemishes, dark spots and blotchy skin.

While the majority of individuals apply foundation over the entire face some only require a minimal application with a touch of concealer. The amount and type of foundation needed will depend on the tone and texture of the skin.

Stick Foundation is ideal for those individuals who only need a minimal amount of coverage. This foundation can be applied quickly and directly over the face with a focus on trouble spots and blended into the skin using the fingertips or a sponge.

Ideally, foundation should be applied using a sponge to prevent bacteria from getting into the product. While it is ok to apply stick foundation directly onto the skin – try using a sponge instead to extend the life of the foundation and to prevent contamination.

Mineral Foundation Makeup for Improved Skin Tone

Mineral Foundation is also used for minimum or sheer coverage to even out the skin tone and minimize imperfections. Mineral foundation is applied using a makeup brush and is gently swept over the entire face several times to create a flawless and often times glowing complexion. Most mineral foundations have a shimmering component called bismuth oxychloride that gives the skin a radiant appearance. However, if you have sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts then you should avoid mineral foundation or use a mineral foundation that does not have this added ingredient.

Water Based Foundation Makeup for Sensitive Skin

Water Based Foundation provides medium to full coverage and can be used on most skin types including oily skin, sensitive and acne prone skin. The foundation is applied by dotting the liquid over the skin using your fingertips and blended over the face with a sponge.

Oil Based Foundation Makeup for Dry & Mature Skin

Oil Based Foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation that works best on dry or mature skin that requires additional moisture. Oil based foundations are creamy formulas that help keep the skin moisturized throughout the day and prep dry skin for the application of blush and powder so that it will glide on the face with ease. If you have excessively dry skin or mature skin and do not use a rich and creamy foundation your makeup may look dry and cakey on the face.

Compact Foundation Makeup for Dry Skin

Compact Foundations are creamy foundations that come in a compact and are applied using a sponge. These foundations are great for dry or mature skin as well as for those individuals that only want to apply foundation to certain areas of the face rather than the entire face. Some compact foundations are applied as a cream formula but then dry as a powder on the face – this makes for an easy application and natural look over the skin. This is a great no fuss and error free way to applying foundation.

Foundation comes in a variety of coverage options for numerous skin types and conditions. When choosing a foundation find a product is ideal for your skin type and tone.

Daily Skin Care Tips

daily skin care starts with cleansing your skinEvery woman wants to look beautiful, healthy and youthful. A daily and consistent skin care and hair care regimen will help every woman do just that. A woman’s self-esteem is often wrapped up in how young or healthy she perceives her skin and hair to look every day.

Here are a few simple things you can do to ensure you’ll look your very best now and for years down the road.

  1. Cleansing your skin is really the foundation of a healthy skin care routine. Surprisingly, most people go overboard in this area. Whether you have oily, normal or combination skin, it is important to clean your facial skin without stripping it of naturally occurring oils that are important for younger looking skin.
  2. Wash at night to remove makeup and debris with a cleanser for your skin type. Cleanse by using a dime-size amount of cleanser and rinsing your skin with lukewarm water. Pat dry. In the morning, simply splash a bit of lukewarm water on your face to remove any excess oils from the night’s moisturizer. Remember: never use hot or cold water to wash your face, as either one can cause broken capillaries and make your skin appear blotchy.
  3. Exfoliation is often overlooked when it comes to skin care, but it is an essential step to keep you looking young. Microdermabrasion, retinoids, and chemical peels are all great methods by which to exfoliate your skin by removing the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Each is also available for in-home use if you are unable to afford treatments at a spa, so try one of these at home and you’ll notice that your skin is not only clean, but also glowing. Beauty experts do not recommend toners, but others say they are the key to their facial skin routine. Stick with what makes your skin look the best for you.
  4. Moisturizing your skin is a wonderful way to remain looking young and have soft skin as well. Even if you have oily facial skin, be sure to use a moisturizer, even if it’s only a little each time. Make sure to apply a moisturizer all over after you’re out of the bath or shower.

  5. Apply your makeup with clean sponges each time.
  6. Give yourself a facial at home once a week or so. There are several facial “recipes” out there.
  7. Puffy eyes in the morning can be tamed by placing slices of potatoes or cucumbers over them for a few minutes. For some reason, the puffiness is eased.
  8. Bathe only once a day to minimize the possibility of depleting your skin’s moisture. Use lukewarm water (instead of extremely hot or cold water), a soap less cleanser, and limit your bathing or showering times to under 15 minutes to keep your skin from drying out.
  9. Sunscreen is a must and probably the most important step when it comes to protecting our skin from harmful environmental factors. Make certain to use a sunscreen or moisturizer containing at least 15 SPF and apply it daily to every area that is exposed to the sun.
  10. Hair care is essential for good health as well. If your hair appears healthy, you look younger. Shampoo your scalp at least two or three times a day in order to avoid developing dandruff.
  11. When you shampoo your scalp and hair, use your fingertips to scrub your scalp thoroughly to loosen up dirt, oils, and debris. Rinse your hair with cool water and you’ll notice it has more body as opposed to rinsing with hot water.
  12. Before going to bed each night, be sure to brush your hair to remove tangles and redistribute natural oils in the hair.
  13. If possible, allow your hair to air dry rather than subjecting it to blow-drying which can rob your locks of essential moisture.
  14. Use a wide-toothed comb to comb out hair when it is wet to avoid breakage.
  15. Regular trims will prevent split ends and give you a new, polished look.
  16. Believe it or not, proper nutrition and ample amounts of rest contribute to healthy skin and hair, so make sure to get the proper amounts of vitamins, minerals and nutrients in your food or via supplements.
  17. Go to bed at the same time each night and get up the same time each morning.

As you can see, it is really quite simple to look young, healthy and beautiful if you just take care of your hair and the skin you’re in right now. You’ll be so glad you did!
